Is a university degree worth the cost? That’s the heading of a interesting article by Amanda Pelham in Delhouse University Canage website. I think you will find it very interesting whether you are a university student doing a degree or a lecturer at a university or a parent of a university student. I would like to add that I’d ask is a University degree worth the cost and time you spend for that? But that will have to wait. Lets see what Miss Amanda Pelham has to say. Q: Is a university degree worth the cost? While most of us had not seen him before, broadcaster Michael Enright’s voice is so familiar he seemed like an immediate friend. His presence lent an informal flavor to the CBC public forum, “The Final Exam Question: Is a University Education Worth the Cost?” Read the full article here

When Mick Jagger sang, “Time is on my side” he obviously wasn’t referring to your career. Today, working adults are on the clock for ten to twelve hours a day with little if any time to pursue other interests. And when they finally reach home after work, most assume responsibilities that come with raising a family. Yet adults across the nation — knowing a fragile job market still looms in the United States — are discovering an easy way to return to school to improve their chances of advancing their careers. That answer is online and today dozens of schools offer degree programs that allow students to learn on their own time from where it’s most convenient for them. The practicality and convenience of online learning has helped it become a popular choice among busy adults who feel there is not enough time in the day.
Smart Choices Agricultural Engineering. Food shortages plague the world, yet more arable land is needed to grow crops for biofuels. Someone has to solve this conundrum. Nuclear Engineering. Controversial? You bet . But nuclear’s coming back after more than 20 years in the shadow cast by Three Mile Island and Chernobyl. Insider Tip Most M.E. grad students have an undergrad degree in the same field. Still, a fair number of non-engineering students, often with degrees in physics and math, opt for mechanical engineering at grad school. It can be a tough transition. Robert C. Brown, an M.E. prof at Iowa State with a B.S. in physics and a B.A. in math, suggests that if you’re a science or math major heading into thermal systems research, take classes in fluid dynamics and heat transfer; if you’re doing mechanical systems research… Continue Reading Hot Tips for a Graduate Degree in Engineering

Nowadays, when our lives have changed so much and when we have so little free time, it has become difficult to attend university courses. But there is a solution for this problem, the online university. An online university degree is as good and legitimate as a regular one and it has the advantage that you can organize your study according to your schedule. From many points of view the online university degree is preferable because you are the master of your time and you decide when and where learning. And the results are not of inferior quality. Any student who wants to learn cannot be conditioned by the presence of teachers or the study classrooms. On the contrary, teachers and their way of examining the students sometimes inhibit our process of thinking and the marks we get do not reflect our knowledge and do not recompense our hard working. I resigned from my job on 26th October but from then for the last 3 days I have done nothing but just read Harry Potter eBooks I downloaded on to my mobile phone. So what’s up with me. Why am I not doing the assignment work. Just see now. I’m typing this stupid blog post here when I can be doing my assignment work. I just discovered that the ISE assignment I was worrying I had to give on 4th of November is actually due on 16 of November! What a relief. But on the other hand the Database assignment and the Project Management assignments are due on 9th and 10th of November respectively… I have my work cutoff. I have to do something but here I’m postponing the work till this afternoon. what’s wrong with me. Why am I procrastinating. If I had done the assignments from 26th at least I will have finished some tasks. But here I’m still postponing hour by hour, day by day and bringing myself [...]

This is the story of a final year degree student whom I know very well. He is currently doing a UK Business IT degree at a affiliated university college. God has gifted him with the ability and talent to understand the degree work very well. In his degree unlike the earlier batches that were conducted by that affiliated college they have newly introduced assignment work. He’s got to do the assignments. He doesn’t find the assignments hard but he’s not interested. In other words he doesn’t have a will to complete the assignments. I understand he is having a tough time. He works for a local software company as a full time employee and on top of that has various other commitments in addition to living away from home in a boarding room under some trying conditions many would find hard in this day and age. But still he wants to complete the degree and finds time to do the assignments. It’s just when he finds the time that he feels he can’t do the degree assignment work.
